Recovery Network
2023-2024 Senior Capstone Project
Creating spaces that support people in recovery from addiction and prevent relapse.
My capstone project proposed a network of 3 recovery hubs with different functions in each neighborhood throughout Philadelphia. The prototype for this network was designed in 3 existing rowhomes in West Philadelphia. The first function was a pharmacy and education space for learning more about addictions. The second function was a mental health center with a dedicated AA meeting room, private and family therapy rooms, and creative spaces. The third building housed a Cafe/Dry Bar to support social connection for people in recovery. The design of each space highlights different points in the recovery process. The design becomes more fluid from pharmacy/education to mental health to the cafe/dry bar, which signifies the person's growth in recovery as they need less & less structure to stay sober.
